Sideline reporter Erin Andrews revealed that her surrogate had a miscarriage with her second child during the latest episode of her Calm Down podcast released on Thursday (May 22).

“We got some real sh***y, news today that our surrogate had miscarried. So, I have dealt with this before, but things were going really, really well. And her little heartbeat and her numbers were really good — so much so I even told you guys a couple weeks ago because we thought we had such good news,” Andrews said.

“I’ve just been tearing up the whole time and trying to stay focused,” she added. “But I’m also really, really good at suppressing my feelings, and work really helps me with that. I think one of the things I’m so sad about is that I’m going to have to do a better job with dealing with my feelings with this because the last time we had such a loss, I didn’t, and I suffered with it. Been sitting here thinking about Taylor Swift’s song, ‘I Can Do It With a Broken Heart,’ I’m really good at doing this s**t with a broken heart.”

Andrews, 47, welcomed her son, Mack, with husband, two-time Stanley Cup champion Jarrett Stoll, via surrogate in 2023, following her own infertility issues, as well as having previously lost their first child via surrogate, which she had spoken about publicly in the past and cited as she and her family deal with their recent tragedy.

“I think I kinda made a promise to myself that when I was really open with how sh**ty infertility has been and our journey with two surrogates, because we did lose…we had loss with our first surrogate and then luckily with our second one, we had Mack, that I was just going to be honest with people,” Andrews said.

“… I decided to be honest about this. People, you have no idea what they’re dealing with, and people deal more with loss than they do with what, the reward? I don’t even know, I can’t even think right, but this whole thing is so sh—ty, and I don’t envy people that are going through it. … I know my husband is having a difficult time and I’m going to go home and be with him, and then we’re going to throw our little 2-year-old in a pool and I feel like squeezes are going to feel a little different from him today.”

Andrews recently revealed that she was dealing with a "pre-skin cancer situation" in March.

“It’s a pre-skin cancer situation. I did a cream for five days on it,” Andrews said. “I went for the old — ‘Oh it’s a great idea until you get in the car’ skin check — the whole shebang… I wanted to pass out in the middle of it because I’m so afraid they’re going to find something.”

Andrews also had a previous battled with cervical cancer in September 2016 and underwent successful surgery, claiming she is now cancer-free.
