After taking a break for a few years, Rascal Flatts proved the boys are back and better than ever with an impressive appearance at the 2025 iHeartCountry Festival presented by Capital One at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas, on Saturday (May 3).
Before the band even hit the stage, the presence was immediately known. Thin Lizzy's "The Boys Are Back in Town" played as the giant screen lining the back of stage started to glitch, revealing the expansive set honoring the band's 25th anniversary.
As each of the trio's members — Gary LeVox, Joe Don Rooney and Jay DeMarcus — made their way in front of the crowd, they showcased each of their talents while commanding the stage like the veteran performers they are as they launched into "Here's To You," from 2004's Feels Like Today.
Calling back to their introduction, they did a brief interlude of "The Boys Are Back in Town" before moving into their next song, "Yours If You Want It," from their 2017 album Back To Us.

After lighting up the venue with an older track, "Fast Cars and Freedom," the band hyped up the crowd for their new collaboration with the Jonas Brothers, "I Dare You." Rascal Flatts slowed things down for their next song, throwing the crowd back to 2006's "What Hurts the Most," with blue lights shining on stage perfectly setting the tone for the heartbreak anthem.
The band brought down the house with their last song of the night, "Life Is A Highway." The track was a hit with the crowd who sang along loudly as the lights on the screen background gave the impression of a car speeding down a dark highway and Rooney wowed with a show-stopping guitar solo.
The trio recently joined forces with Backstreet Boys on a "dream collaboration" for a new twist on Rascal Flatts' hit song "What Hurts The Most," which dropped Friday (May 2). The track is one of many legendary team-ups that will be included on the band's forthcoming collaborations album Life Is A Highway: Refueled Duets, out June 6. Other artists that will feature on the project include Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, Carly Pearce, the Jonas Brothers and more.
Hosted once again by iHeartRadio's Bobby Bones, the 2025 iHeartCounty Festival had a full night of star-powered performances from some of the biggest names in country music, including Brooks & Dunn, Thomas Rhett, Rascal Flatts, Cole Swindell, Sam Hunt, Megan Moroney, Bailey Zimmerman, Nate Smith and special guest Dasha. Don't forget to catch up on all the incredible fashions from the red carpet.
