Billy Ray Cyrus debuted a song that offers a “unique interpretation of healing” as he opens up about his new romance with actress Elizabeth Hurley.
Cyrus, 63, first sparked dating rumors with Hurley, 59, when the couple shared a flirty photo celebrating Easter together on Sunday (April 20). The country star is captured kissing his new girlfriend’s cheek in the photo. The pair had been commenting on one another’s posts for at least a few weeks before the hard-launched relationship. They met while filming Christmas in Paradise together in 2022.
Hurley commented, “that’s MY jacket,” when Cyrus shared a sneak peek of “Ask (Honor Song),” featuring Micki Free and Ben Burgessm which made its debut on Friday (April 25). Cyrus said the new version of his previously-released song is “actually the way the song was written to fit in my lyrics in this unique interpretation of healing. …I think everyone may get a clearer understanding of what this song is about and the healing ❤️🩹 love and true respect for the fact that in life …… Sometimes we all get lost….but finding your way back is always the tricky part! Just remember, life is a series of adjustments.”
Cyrus debuted his relationship with Hurley several months after finalizing his divorce from Australian singer-songwriter FIREROSE, 37. The “Achy Breaky Heart” artist married FIREROSE, also known as Johanna Rose Hodges, in October 2023. He filed for divorce seven months into the marriage. Cyrus said in a statement when the divorce was finalized, in part, that the short-lived marriage was “the most crazy insane scam,” and he’s “very relieved” it’s over. FIREROSE said in a statement via a rep earlier this week that she’s “currently focused on her music” amid her ex-husband’s new romance.
Cyrus said in a new interview that he remembers the “chemistry” between himself and Hurley when the now-budding couple filmed Christmas in Paradise together in 2022, when he was separated from ex-wife Tish Cyrus. Cyrus and Hurley reportedly didn’t speak for two years, but the actress texted the country artist as he was going through a difficult time — presumably, his split from FIREROSE — and they remained in contact. Cyrus said Hurley is “impressively brilliant,” and “reminds me a lot of Dolly Parton.”
Hurley was previously married to businessman Arun Nayar, 60, from 2007 to 2011. Her son, Damian Hurley, 23, whom she welcomed with late businessman and film producer Steve Bing, was one of many people to comment on his mother’s Easter photo with Cyrus. He simply commented with two emojis: “🥳♥️.” Cyrus’ children have not publicly commented on their father’s new relationship as of publication time on Friday.
Cyrus shares five children with ex-wife Tish, whom he divorced in 2022. They share Brandi Cyrus, 37, and Trace Cyrus, 35 — both of whom the country star adopted when he married their mother in the early 90s — Braison Cyrus, 30, and daughters Miley Cyrus, 32, and Noah Cyrus, 25. Cyrus is also a father to son Christopher Cody Cyrus, 32, from a previous relationship.
