Morgan Wallen posted on Instagram for the first time since his viral, abrupt exit on Saturday Night Live.

Wallen’s post did not address the unusual SNL moment, however. Instead, the singer-songwriter shared a sneak peek of an unreleased song ahead of the next chapter in his career. Wallen offered a snippet of “Come Back As A Redneck,” simply captioned: “Maybe then you’ll understand.”

Wallen appeared on Saturday Night Live over the weekend, performing two of his latest releases from his upcoming album: “I’m The Problem” and “Just In Case.” Viewers couldn’t help but notice the country artist’s unusual departure from the iconic studio at the end of the show. He hugged the host, Oscar-winning Anora star Mikey Madison, and opted not to acknowledge any of the SNL cast members before walking off stage. Fans of the show called the moment “odd,” and something they’d never seen in the show’s history (SNL is celebrating 50 years in 2025). Wallen also reportedly declined to appear in a sketch, and was then replaced by pop hitmaker Joe Jonas, PEOPLE and Page Six reported on Tuesday (April 1). Wallen has not commented on his apparent refusal to appear in a sketch, and has not spoken in depth about his experience on the show. Shortly after his departure, however, Wallen shared a photo of himself getting on a plane, and wrote: “Get me to God’s country.”

Wallen’s “I’m The Problem” and “Just In Case” are two of the latest tracks to arrive from his 37-track studio album, I’m The Problem. The highly-anticipated record also includes “I’m A Little Crazy,” “Love Somebody,” “Smile” and “Lies Lies Lies.” The project is slated to release on the first day of the reigning Country Music Association Entertainer of the Year’s three-day Sand In My Boots Festival in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The album will also arrive ahead of Wallen’s headlining “I’m The Problem Tour,” which includes Brooks & DunnMiranda LambertThomas Rhett and Koe Wetzel as direct support, and Gavin AdcockCorey KentElla Langley and Anne Wilson on select dates. I’m The Problem will release on May 16.
