Luke Bryan did what Luke Bryan does best at the 58th annual CMA Awards at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday (November 20), performing "Love You, Miss You, Mean It" from his latest album in only a way the "Country Girl" star could.
Pulling a double shift at this year's award show as both a host and performer, Bryan took the stage with a smile as he sang the heartfelt lyrics to the song, telling the story of a lost love that was rekindled after college...something that Bryan himself is very familiar with.
The crowd swayed back and forth as the standout delivered the perfect amount of emotion and engagement, serenading the audience with six special words.
Though he didn't write the track, it holds a very personal place in his heart as he and his wife lived out the lyrics in the early years of their relationship. The "Buy Dirt" hitmaker spoke about his relation to the single in an April interview stating:
"How many people have had the high school sweetheart that they broke up with and wound up living the story of getting back together and stuff like that. I think the song just spoke to me on all those levels."
Bryan released his latest album, Mind of a Country Boy, in September and is currently filming season 23 of American Idol, slated to air in March 2025.
Other artists who took the stage at this year's CMA Awards included Shaboozey, Jelly Roll, Brooks & Dunn, Cody Johnson, Lainey Wilson, Dierks Bentley, Thomas Rhett, and Kelsea Ballerini, to name only a few.
