Luke Combs marked a full-circle moment when he released his latest album, Growin’ Up.

The highly-anticipated 12-track project includes only one collaboration: “Outrunnin’ Your Memory,” a duet with reigning Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year, Miranda Lambert.

Combs shared on his social media channels that Lambert is a songwriter he’s always admired during his career. That’s how he knew he needed to write — and, ultimately, record — a song with her. He wrote in his caption:

“[Miranda Lambert] is someone I’ve looked up to for so long as a songwriter, so it was a super bucket list thing for me to get to write with her. The only intention we had was to write a song that we both thought was really good. That song ended up being ‘Outrunnin’ Your Memory’ and when I went to record it, I knew she was too good not to make it a duet. Hope y’all love this song as much as I do.”

Combs began teasing new music on his social media channels earlier this year. He confirmed the album’s release date in April, and dropped new info, little by little, until it debuted on June 24. Combs dropped Growin’ Up a few days after he and his wife, Nicole, welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Tex Lawrence Combs. The reigning iHeartRadio Music Awards Country Artist of the Year had a lot to celebrate as he shared: “Life is good.”
