It’s a big week for Carly Pearce.
The recent Grand Ole Opry inductee is gearing up to release “29: Written in Stone,” on Friday (September 17). The upcoming collection is: “My truth in 15 songs. All written in stone,” Pearce shared. “I can’t wait to share them with you this Friday ❤️” But before that, the “Next Girl” artist is teasing her new music on her social media channels — and debuting one of the new tracks at midnight.
It’s a duet with fellow country artist Ashley McBryde. Pearce explained that “Never Wanted To Be That Girl” is “the story of how a bad man happened to two good women.” She credited McBryde, her “incredibly talented friend,” for teaming up with her on the song. Here’s what fans can expect from the upcoming duet:
Pearce also dropped a preview of a sassy split anthem, singing “you ain’t gonna get this diamond back” and captioning the Instagram teaser “It’s in a pawnshop next to the laundromat.”
“29: Written in Stone” is releasing as Pearce tours with headliner Lady A, plus Niko Moon and Tenille Arts. Among other notable tour moments, Pearce and Lady A’s Hillary Scott covered “Does He Love You,” made famous by Reba McEntire and Scott’s mom, Linda Davis. Scott shared that Davis sent Pearce “the sweetest voice memo” before the duet, saying: “rhinestones, fringe and fur are gonna fly tonight.”
Amid her successes, Pearce shared a word of advice to her younger self before she hosted the ACM Honors at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville last month: “Just hold on and realize that everything is going to work out in the time that it's supposed to.”
Pearce is performing during this year’s iHeartCountry Festival presented by Capital One on October 30th in Austin, Texas. Fans can tune in to watch the star-studded show live via an exclusive livestream on LiveXLive.com or the LiveXLive app. iHeartMedia's Country music radio stations will also broadcast the event live, as well as on iHeartRadio.com and the iHeartRadio app. Tickets are currently on sale at texasboxoffice.com.
